Halloween is always a fun and scary night for sure! It’s the perfect night to play dress up and go as whoever/whatever you want and don’t get weird looks. If you’re one of those that likes to do crazy, scary or just full face of halloween makeup then you want to make sure you do the right thing when it comes to taking care of your skin. Skincare before and after Halloween makeup is very simple, just follow these steps and you should be good to go!

Step 1: Cleanse

Make sure your face is properly cleaned with the cleanser of your choice. Is very important to start with a clean and blank canvas, remove daily accumulation of oils and previous make up, if any.

Step 2: Moisturize

Apply moisturizer, it will minimize the drying out and cracking of your makeup and it will last all night. Keep in mind that most “face-paints” are more dry than regular makeup, so it’s important that your face and neck is properly hydrated and moisturized. Also, wait until your moisturizer dries and it’s absorbed into your skin, that way it won’t move around and it will ensure that your face stays moist.

Step 3: Makeup

Do your Halloween makeup, have fun with it! Use clean brushes and make sure that all of the materials that you’re using are made to be applied on your face. Be careful with sensitive areas, around your eyes and lips, it can cause irritation if not applied properly.

Step 4: Cleanse

Make sure the first thing you do as soon as you get home is removing all of the makeup. The longer it stays in your skin, the more it can cause dryness and irritation. Use the cleanser that works best for you, going in very subtle motions so you don’t scratch your face. Wash your face with lots and lots of luke-warm water!

Step 5: Moisturize

Apply your moisturizer or night cream to your face, don’t forget the neck! Or if you want to treat your face a little more then apply a face mask that hydrates your skin and you are good for bed!
